Villa Toscana + A Cloudy Day

Wednesday, September 26, 2007

WOW! I think that word truly sums up the whole day for Shelly and Brian's wedding. The day started off with high chances of rain; however, the rain held off but brought some amazing clouds in for great lighting. Shelly's style was throughout the entire wedding and she added a special something to everything part. She has a great vintage look to her and she was a beauitful bride! Her eyes were a target to many of my pictures because they have a blue that makes you keep looking. As for Brian, he is a perfect match for Shelly and has such a tenderness towards her. I loved having them alone and watching them interact...my job is so fun! Between an amazing couple and a flawless venue like Villa Toscana, Saturday was a highlight wedding for the year. Take a peak at the show and take some notes from Shelly's style...

Back in San Luis...

With San Luis Obispo County being so large, it's amazing how many small venues there are hidden within the hills and valleys. Alexis and Josh got married at this small ranch off Price Canyon that had some of the best trees for pictures. It's times like these that a photographer wishes she had more time to just shoot all day long. Between Alexis's GREAT dress and Josh's gentle personality, they were a blast. The wedding kept me on my toes since I only had 2.5 hours to catpure it all, but I loved of some of the shots that came from it...and sometimes I love the challenge against the clock.

The ceremony was simple with one of their close friends, Kai, officiating it. He specifically wore a red jacket and shoes to symbolize love...I got a kick out him and he knew how to work a camera for some funny shots. The wedding party as a whole had an easy going personality and a style that made me want to keep shooting.

It was an honor to be a part of this wedding! I hope you enjoy the pictures....

The Betz Wedding

Wednesday, September 12, 2007

I love the feeling of an intimate ceremony and reception! Tessa and Ryan had an amazing wedding at one of my favorite venues in the North County, Still Waters Vineyard. They could not have asked for a better day...everything from the weather to their guest made the day just as they dreamed. The ceremony took place in this incredible olive orchard that overlooks the vineyard - absolutely breathtaking! Tessa added a great touch to the ceremony by using white wine to blend together in order to symbolize the two of them becoming one. Often people will use colored sand, but the wine was a fitting touch considering the site. As for the reception, the food was great and the dancing was easy to come by since their guest were not shy of the dance floor. Needless to say, the time flew by for me and I had a great time. Best of luck to the new Mr. and Mrs. Betz!!

Greg and Bree Haskell

I love when a couple has a rare find for a wedding and reception site. Bree and Greg found this amazing venue in Chico, CA that was prefect for them. There were flowers everywhere as well as amazing metal doors and rustic settings (which I loved!) for a variety of pictures.

The day started off early for the girls at a local salon, but I must admit that it was fun seeing the bride in the "morning getting ready process." All her bridesmaids were lighthearted and beyond supportive...some might have even qualified for Bridesmaid of the Year. As for the guys, they were troopers considering the high temperature for the day was in the 100's and they had on a full tux. Needless to say, we got creative with the shaded areas.

This couple is a special one to my family. Having known both Bree and Greg for over five years, it's amazing to see them venture into the married world. I found myself smiling behind my camera watching them be so affectionate with one another and truly enjoying their wedding. To be honest they reminded me of Chris and I at our wedding...much like Bree, I loved the dancing and since Chris hates to dance, he did all the meet and greets with the guest...Bree and Greg almost the exact same. It was a pleasure being there and I cannot wait to watch them walk through life together. God bless you both!

We could not have asked for a more perfect day! The weather was amazing, the wedding was flawless and the reception was a blast. Jennifer and Ross are a great couple that truly had a splash of their personalities in each part of their wedding. From her amazing dress to the wedding favors, they included special parts of their family ties to everything.

I loved taking them down to the beach for the couple shots...surprisingly, there were few people at the spot we went to therefore creating a perfect place for pictures. It was a joy being a part of their wedding and I hope you enjoy!
