Spring = New Babies

Friday, April 27, 2007

It's definitely in the air. When I originally got into photography, I would have never thought that I would enjoy baby portraits so much...or that I would be taking so many portrait sessions. They are amazing and so fun! The baby can be awake, asleep, happy or sad and every shoot is cute...maybe I am just a softie for the little ones. :)

Grant was an amazing little guy. His deep blue eyes were so striking and at only 11 weeks he was full of life. When I left the house, I was in awe at how smart babies are. He too (like some of the other babies I've shot lately) was completely tracking with my camera and didn't want to take his eyes off it. We were actually trying to get his attention away from the camera whereas it can be the opposite with other babies. Needless to say, it was a great shoot and it was fun to see a new mom in her element...she made it look fun and easy.

Old Camera + My Boyfriend...

Friday, April 20, 2007

Some of you may be thinking, "I thought she is married?!" I assure you that I still am, but I joke with my husband that this little guy is my boyfriend...he has a way of melting my heart and getting me to do anything that is completely ridiculous without thinking twice.

So I read the other day about a photographer that has this day a week that he calls "Get Off Your Ares Friday." The name in itself made me laugh but I thought it was a great challenge. Luckily, I am surrounded by some amazing folks that I can shoot whenever. Jayden being a prime canidate. I was at a birthday party of a good friends and they asked me to bring my old camera to rattle off a few pictures. Of course I didn't think twice about it. The day had some rain, but it created for an amazing skyline once it stopped...That's when Jayden and I went to play. It was a blast. If anything, it's fun to capture him in his moment with a stick in hand and his silly smile. I think half the time I was laughing too, but it was fun to shoot the quick pictures.

I must admit that I love my new cameras now, but it's always great to go back and see where we have grown from and how God has blessed us!
