The Drakes

It's always fun when you can shoot a couple in their "environment." I think their true personalities come out and they seem to have fun despite the fact that they are in front of a camera...this was the case for Nick and Sadie. Living in Morro Bay, of course the Rock and the beach are popular, but with Nick being a "boater" the dock was the perfect location for them. It was amazing to be behind the camera the whole time and watch them interact. Nick knows exactly how to make Sadie laugh and you could really see how much fun they have being married.

A Miracle Child

Like most, I always love a good story...I think this could be one of the best I have heard in a long time. Chris and I have gotten to know the Yates Family over the last few years. Both Rob and Courtney are full of life, energy and great laughs. Rob absolutely adores Courtney and Courtney really knows how to get Rob to giggle...or melt. Needless to say, they are a fun couple. Like the bulk of the folks our age, they decided to step into the parent world; however their journey did not look like most. Being unable to have their own children, Courtney's sister became the surrogate mother for their child. As a whole, Baby Mac is a miracle on all sides and is a complete blessing to her parents and her amazing aunt. So, when I got the chance to shoot her first portrait session, I jumped right on it. I think Baby Mac may be a photographer (or a model) some day because at only 6 weeks old, she was completely tracking with me and my camera. Again, she made my job easy and fun. Congratulations Yates!

50 Years And Counting

Having only been married a little over three years, I cannot wait to be able to say that it's our 50th anniversary. What a blessing it is to know couples that have reached that milemarker and are still going. I got the awesome joy of shooting Judy and Ted's 50th Anniversary Celebration. They were surrounded by all five of their kids, family and even the folks that were in their wedding 50 years ago! The bridesmaids and groomsmen were the same people and you could tell they all still have fun together. They day was perfect on all fronts and the playful nature between Ted and Judy was seen by all.
