Baby Carter

Sunday, November 26, 2006

I am at such a fun stage of life right now. Numerous of our close friends are venturing into parenthood or have already had their first little one. Seeing their sheer delight as they look at their child is such a gift...taking photos of it is a blessing. Over Thanksgiving, I got to shoot Baby Carter's first (of many) portraits. Being at the comfort of his own home with his parents close by, we had a great time. He was a little tropper and made my job easy. As I looked at the finish product, I found myself telling my husband, "This is why I love my job."

Plenty to be thankful for

Sunday, November 19, 2006

I have to say that my husband and I are beyond blessed with the folks that surround us Paso Robles. We have about 6 couples that we have grown extremely close to over the course of the last year. Between serving side by side in a ministry called Young Life and having a small group on Wednesdays, we see each other a lot throughout the week. We decided to throw a pre-thanksgiving feast as a group and we had a blast! Since I just got my fisheye lens, I figured what better place to play with it than with friends.

After eating more food than we could handle, we decided to play a game of Guesstures. Now note, we are a loud group, so when we played guys verses girls, the game got intense.
To end the game and top the night off, our friend John got to go last. Naturally he pulled the cards and got the guys ready to guess. However, he kept giving the clues for the same card and everyone got confused. After a few seconds the clues clicked and the whole room went into an uproar as we found out that John and Shiloh were pregnant with baby #1! Needless to say, we had much to be thankful for.

Ending the Season....

Monday, November 06, 2006

Well, the 2006 wedding season is officially over! Sigh... It's been a great year and more happened than I would have ever imagined, but I am ready for the break. I got to finish off the year with a busy weekend with a wedding on Saturday and engagements on Sunday.

I got to take Nate and Kristen's engagement pictures and I had a blast! I was stoked to finish the wedding year with them and to be able to play. My husband road down with me to the beach and read a book while I worked, and he commented on how he heard me laugh the whole time. I had fun. They were a couple full of life and had a playful nature about them. Kristen was willing to do whatever and naturally Nate tagged along. After this session, it made me excited to shoot their wedding which is in June of 2007. It's times like these that I sit back and smile at how I have my dream job. It's such a blessing to love what I do and to be able to bless others at the same time.

Megan and David

Friday, November 03, 2006

With the weather being amazing right now, I have had the opportunity to shoot a lot of engagement sessions. Obviously the beach is very popular, but there has to be something said for local parks and vineyards. Megan and David were a great couple to shoot...very comfortable infront of the camera and very affectionate. They got engaged at a park in San Luis Obispo, so our last stop for the day was the playground area where David proposed. I love being able to capture the playful love a couple has...needless to say, they made my job easy and we had fun working together.

Pumpkins...

Wednesday, November 01, 2006

Kids can be the funnest thing sometimes! I got the joy of tagging along with one of my best friends to the pumpkin patch on Saturday to stock up for our pumpkin carving party that night. The patch was a little limited but it didn't stop her son from having a blast. He ate grass, threw some pumpkins and smiled at everything...he has to be one of the cutest kids ever. We are blessed to have him in our lives and I can't wait to see him continue to grow up.
