David + Nicole's Engagements {Atascadero}

David and Nicole are getting married this fall at Still Waters Vineyard in Paso Robles. I met them a few weeks back and left our meeting with the thought, "they seem like they would be good, fun friends to have." ...after their engagement session on Sunday, I realized I was so right on. What a couple! Both are completely down to earth and easy to be around. Nicole (who was wearing a pair of red shoes I wanted to steal) has a beautiful smile that my camera couldn't get enough of and David has a laughter that was priceless to capture. I look forward to seeing them both enjoy the stages of marriage...smiling and laughing the whole way through.

Tim + Molly's Engagements {Santa Margarita Ranch}

Amazing amazing amazing! That's all I can really say about my time with Tim and Molly on Saturday. They were so relaxed and playful in front of the camera...I could have shot all night. Yes, it helps that they are both extremely attractive people however their personalities were what grabbed my attention from the start. It was so evident that they truly enjoyed one another and that they play together. When I say play, it's obviously they adore each other's presence but bigger than that, it was clear they enjoyed experiencing life together. A life full of laughter, humor and adventure. I CANNOT WAIT until their wedding...what a joy!

WPPI {Las Vegas} + A New Thought

This past week was an incredible adventure A. Blake Photography. I headed to Las Vegas for a photography conference with my wonderful husband. While there, I learned a few things about myself and how I run my business...one being that I rarely blog about my family or personal sharings. Well, hopefully that will change. For so long I convinced myself that my readers and clients are not interested in how great I think my family is or how funny my precious 2 year old was today; however, I realized I love hearing about other people's lives and chaos with kids so maybe others would too. So, here's the new step...

Yes, I am Ashley with A. Blake Photography but more so than that, I am a mom of a 2 year old little girl named Addie Grace and a foster-mom to a beautiful teenager named Shelby. My husband, Chris, of almost 7 years is my inspiration and encouragement each day in running my business. He pushes me as well as picks up my pieces with I feel inadequate. Our life is crazy, full of life and definitely saturated with laugher. There are days I wonder how in the world I can physically juggle being a mom and full time photographer but I honestly wouldn't have it any other way. I am blessed to do what I love and still have time for those I love.

Dean + Sarah {Still Waters Vineyard}

We did it...we beat the rain up to the minute! Friday I had Dean and Sarah's engagement session scheduled. Knowing they were leaving CA the very next day, Friday was the only day they had open for their session. All day long I watched the weather hoping the rain held. We were lucky and it actually turned out to be a great session with the rain starting once we finished and got into the cars. We started at Still Waters Vineyard, which is always an amazing venue, and we finished up at a random field on the side of the road. The field was green everywhere we turned and provide a beautiful setting with the oak tree silhouettes...I found myself wanting family portraits taken there. As for Dean and Sarah, I was graced with a sneak peak into their relationship and saw them to have a great sense of playfulness and laughter. I have no doubt that they will enjoy the married life together...best of luck you two!
